Laptop frustration for the diploma students

Why Diploma students should not be allowed to have laptops in the Diploma common room


No laptops in the diploma lounge. Diploma students have been complaining that they cannot use laptops in the Diploma lounge. However, laptops shouldn't be used or allowed in the diploma lounge. Responsibility, focus and maturity are the issues that must be discussed. The diploma lounge itself must be considered first. 

There are too many distraction and temptations in the room. Students don't work efficiently in the diploma lounge. Instead of working you maybe go to check if there is any thing the refrigerator. When you go to get something like in the refrigerator you just trying to pass on time. Sometimes just take up the ipad and play some games. You feel like you can do what ever you want.

Unsupervised sessions will result in students that not going to work as effectively as if they had a teacher. Students require a teacher in the room to work as effectively as possible. When students don't have a teacher in room they lose focus.They are more likely to go on inappropriate websites. They don't get as much work done as they could.



Tired students are more likely to end up doing something else. Students are more likely to distract each other. No one is  there to tell you when to stop. If you are done with most of the work your going to start to go one inappropriate websites. Start to talk to other to have something to do. When you are talking to your class mates you will distract them and even if you are done that doesn't mean that they are.

Diploma students like the idea of a room for them self. Students want to show their maturity and responsibility. They are grown ups now so they should be able to take care of them self's. This is the most important year and they have to be able to take care of them selfs. Even if there is no teachers the students have to be able to work and take there own decision. No one is going to help them with that late on in life.

The diploma lounge is not good work place for a responsible student. Mature and responsible student would not chose to work in the DP lounge. The library have teacher supervision so you can ask for help if you need it. Student work better when they have a chance to get help. The space in the library is bigger so if you get distracted you can just move and sit somewhere else. You can move away from the others if you feel like you dont get any work done around them.

They also put on musice without headphones, and that will disturb the other studnets from working.

The library is a better work place. The diploma lounge have to many distractions and temptions.There is always teacher supervision in the library. Also more space so you can sit somewhere else if you feel like you getting disturbed. It’s a more quiet work place and you if you need help there is always someone there to help you. Responisble studnets that want to get much work done goes to the library.
